I use our products every day—hair stylers, Shampoo & Body Wash, Hair-Face-Beard-Skin Oil, Body Spray, and our soon-to-launch Salt Spray and Leave-In Conditioner (my current obsession in the line).
Using them every day means I get to know each product really well, including the little nuances that can change how they perform.
That brings me to our medium/high hold, medium shine Hair Styling Wax.
A lot of hair waxes, clays and pomades tell you to scoop out the product and emulsify it—rub it between your palms until it becomes clear. You can absolutely do that with our Hair Styling Wax, but you actually have a couple of options depending on the style and hold you’re going for.
Higher Hold + More Shine
If you want higher hold, more shine and a piecey, high-texture style, don’t fully emulsify the wax.
Scoop out the product and give it just a few rubs between your palms, leaving the product white in your hands. Then work it directly into your hair.
It won’t flake! Because of the careful formulation of waxes, oils and butter, the product will blend right in as you work it through your hair. The result is a stronger, more rigid hold with more separation, texture and shine.
This application method also works especially well for taming flyaways, as it better leverages the product’s natural slickness and control.
Softer Hold + Lower Shine
If you want a less rigid hold and slightly lower shine, fully emulsify the product.
Scoop it out, rub it between your palms until it turns clear, then work it through your hair.
You’ll still get all-day hold, but the finished style won’t feel quite as stiff or look quite as separated and slick.
Same wax. Two different ways to use it.
Give both techniques a try and tell us which one you prefer ✌️
